Well what a great few days in Devon for my weekend workshop.
We were lucky with the weather on Friday. A super sunny day although it did challenge our 'en plein air' skills somewhat as it was windy. We took advantage of the good weather with a coastal walk and sketch before Breakfast, a long paint from 10 til 4 followed by a walk down to the beach later in the early evening to catch the sunset.
Two of our intrepid lot got their swimmers on and braved the waves superb.
It was such a treat to have a good stretch of time to paint and support my students learning on Sunny cove beach.
Saturdays weather was really wet and windy so I set up a studio inside and we looked at exploring ways of layering our work and creating interesting lively surfaces.
Walking looking sketching and photographing. Exploring using the camera as a view finder to frame the view to aid breaking up the picture plane.
Looking at composition and points of interest to record.
Bit of R and R and a much needed pint of tea. We had great chats, great food and great fun.
Do get in touch if you would like to know more about up and coming 2 and 3 day workshops.
much love everyone ....
